The activity may be a little silly-- especially since the facts are all made up. However, this was only a warm up to the ultimate activity that came after it. The final activity uses real materials, and the students would be searching for what they want to quote instead of having it ready for them. In addition, the topic of plagiarism and citations is dry. There is hardly any room for discussion because there is nothing to argue for! This activity aims on having the student experience the process of in-text citation before the final assessment of that lesson, which is the last activity described here in this blog.
